Everyone Else Has Failed! Why Not Try a Local Business Instead of Domino’s

By FNA.
It is not clear how the retail space at 1109 Fillmore street gets leased out.  Over the last 3 years several businesses have come and gone but there is never a “For Lease” sign  or any other notification to the community that the space is available.

Now Domino’s, whose lease  is not renewed and operating on a month-to-month basis at Ellis & Fillmore, is looking to move three blocks to Golden Gate Ave.

The Planning Commission will be deciding the fate of Domino’s Pizza this Thursday, Feb. 7th at Noon.  The hearing also includes public comment and will take place at City Hall in Room 400.

The Mayor’s Office of Housing Turns Away C.O.P. Holders at Fillmore Park Townhomes, While Sitting on $4 Million Dollars

By Jed Crawford

32 brand-new affordable town-homes were built by the City in May 2012 at 1345 Turk Street designated for Certificate of Preference (COP) holders.    As of Oct 2012 there  are only 2 remaining units with no COP holders moving in.

By chance, the Mayor’s Office of Housing (MOH) is also managing an unused 4-million dollar fund set aside for home ownership in Fillmore.

In 2012 lenders required the highest credit scores in a decade, regardless  COP holders were turned away at 1345 Turk Street because they could not secure a bank loan.   With a 4-million dollar fund loan money for 13 town-homes could have been provided by MOH.
